SOAR! Adventure Park will open in Findlay in the fall of 2025, offering a new option for active family fun.
With the announcement of SOAR! Adventure Park™ opening in Fall of 2025, families will no longer have to travel out of town to gather for active fun – like trampolines, a zipline, climbing wall and ultimate dodgeball.
“I was watching my kids play at an adventure park in Cincinnati when the idea hit me,” said Andy Wysocki, owner of SOAR! with two other families. “I thought, ‘Man, we can do this in Findlay – we need to have one of these in Findlay.’”
With three children ages 10 and under, Wysocki said he and many of his friends travel often to indoor parks for a fun, active day with the family. Spurred by the idea, he and the other investor families – Findlay Family Ventures, LLC – researched adventure parks and reached out to some franchises, but all had the same answer.
“They thought Findlay is too small – but we don’t think so,” Wysocki said. “Working together, we decided we could do this on our own.”
The 24,000 square-foot indoor adventure park will be located on County Road 236 in the Timberstone Commons Shopping Center, next to Ashley Furniture. It will feature a 24-foot climbing wall, a 55-foot zip line, 17 trampolines, an ultimate dodgeball court, jump slides and slide races, a battle beam with giant air bag, a 12-foot bouldering wall, a ninja course, giant air bags placed throughout for safety, and a soft play toddler area. SOAR! will also feature designated areas for parties. And parents are encouraged to play, too.
Wysocki and the SOAR! team had the community in mind during two years of research development. The park’s design celebrates the theme of bringing the mountains to the flatlands – “a contrast to what we have,” Wysocki said. The SOAR! logo depicts active people on a mountain, and Wysocki’s 10-year-old daughter helped with the idea and the girl climbing on the ‘A.’ There will be murals inside with mountains and birds of prey, and wood accents throughout the building. The entrance design is a timber frame, and the park will have an overall lodge-type feel.
“It’s going to be pretty awesome – like the great outdoors. We also really wanted to focus on the active part of it,” Wysocki said. “Kids are in front of screens all of the time. We didn’t want virtual reality or flashing lights or strobes, just active, pure, clean fun – so we’re not overly digital at this point.”
Emphasizing their interest in supporting the U.S. and local economy, the SOAR team purchased their equipment from U.S. company Best American Trampolines, which delivers a more expensive, but higher-quality product than purchasing overseas. The company designs, manufactures and installs, and has also offered experienced guidance. Best American also recommended specially designed air bags throughout the park for safety and ease of cleaning – an upgrade from the foam pits of the past.
Wysocki said SOAR! will boost the local economy, keeping people in Findlay to spend money here instead of somewhere else. And, in an effort to offer food to customers and support local vendors, their plans include a pavilion off of the north side of the building where food trucks can open for business.
Former Executive Director of Findlay·Hancock County Economic Development Dan Sheaffer and current Executive Director, Chris Keller, both assisted the SOAR! team as they worked to develop their idea into reality.
“The ED office was a great to help us draft and hone in on our business plan,” Wysocki said. “They helped connect us with local businesses who will partner with us. We’ve appreciated their help.”
Keller is thankful to the SOAR! team for their efforts to support their local community and bring new, exciting amenities to kids and families.
“This is going to be a great place for recreation and it’s awesome that families will no longer need to travel for some active fun,” Keller said. “I like to think of all of the birthday parties that will be held there – a really great addition to Findlay.”
Wysocki is looking forward to a busy year ahead, knowing that SOAR! is off and running.
“There is a lot more work ahead of us to get to opening, but we’ve also done a lot of work to this point,” he said. “We’ll navigate the challenges. We’re very excited – it’s been a long time coming.”
