Sheetz Inc. will soon begin construction on a $145 million food preparation and distribution facility in Findlay expected to create 750 jobs. The company will also build two gas station-convenience stores in the area.
As site preparation begins for an incoming $145 million Sheetz Inc. food preparation and distribution facility expected to create 750 jobs, additional economic impact – through two convenience store-gas station locations – is also on the way.
“Roadwork to install water and sewer lines is happening now, and it probably won’t be too long before they break ground on the large facility,” said Dan Sheaffer, executive director of Findlay Hancock County Economic Development. “These two convenience store-gas stations are added economic impact of the larger project. They saw Findlay as an attractive place to do business as they expand their footprint into new markets, and we are glad we were able to assist them along with city and county officials.”
Sheetz plans to build a $145 million, 511,704-square-foot facility for food preparation, distribution, and offices for Sheetz convenience stores at the Northwest corner of Hancock County roads 212 and 230. The facility is slated for completion in spring or summer of 2026.
“This is a tremendous investment to our area that over the next five years, is projected to create around 750 well-paying, quality jobs,” said Chris Keller, director of strategic initiatives for FHCED. “We look forward to watching the new facility come to fruition and it’s very positive to see them expand their presence through the addition of the convenience store-gas stations, too.”
Sheetz has begun construction on a $3.7 million convenience store-restaurant-gas station with a carwash at the Northeast corner of North Main Street and County Road 99 that is scheduled to open toward the end of 2025. A second location was approved by Findlay Planning Commission last month near the intersection of Tiffin Avenue and Croy Drive in front of RP Home & Harvest. The proposed 6,132 square foot facility includes 12 gas pumps.
Sheetz, Inc. was founded in 1952 in Altoona, PA where headquarters are still located.
