Findlay Celebrates a Decade as Top Micropolitan in the U.S.
In March – with 25 qualifying projects – Findlay earned the distinction of Top Micro for the 10th time by Site Selection Magazine. This is incredible news!
What does this really mean, you ask?
By Site Selection’s definition, a micropolitan is a statistical area made up of 10,000 to 50,000 residents, named after its center city. There are 542 in the country. That’s 10 times in a row that Findlay ranked No. 1 out of 542 – and with its 25 qualifying projects in 2023, Findlay could have – remarkably – earned the No. 1 ranking in Site Selection’s next level in size – Tier 3 metros (50,000 to 200,000 people).
In 2023, Findlay recorded 14 expansions and 9 new projects, with its largest being Sheetz, Inc. Construction is underway now on Sheetz’s $150 million food production facility that is projected to create 700 jobs. According to Site Selection, during its decade at the top Findlay has recorded 291 projects, $2.1 billion of capital investment, about 5 million square feet of construction and nearly 12,000 jobs.
